These materials often contain a variety of different metals, compounds, and minerals, and require extensive reference data sets for physico-chemical, toxicity, and ecotoxicity analysis. MECLAS offers a multi-tiered approach, allowing for progressive refinement of classification based on speciation, specific mineral content, and the availability of test data for the specific complex material being analyzed.
The MECLAS tool is a collaborative effort between EUROMETAUX and ARCHE Consulting.
To use the tool, a license is required. Users must register at the MECLAS website to obtain a login account, which grants access to the tool and all supporting information.
